The Envirothon teams spent a day of training at Menoken Farms for the upcoming state competition at Crystal Springs. There was a lot of hands-on learning about soils, pastures, wildlife, and aquatics.

Congrats to our Future Business Leaders of America students who competed at the State Competition this past weekend in Bismarck. Two students, Sawyer & Alisha, earned the opportunity to attend the National Competition this June in San Antonio, TX. They will be working on fundraising to help pay for their trip - if anyone is interested in donating, please contact Mrs. Held.

We had a blast kicking off this year’s Kids Heart Challenge today! With help from this year’s Heart Heroes, we’re learning all about keeping our hearts healthy through movement, kindness, rest, and knowing when to ask for help.

The kindergarten class has been practicing counting by tens using an abacus. They also used ten sticks and ones to understand that the teen numbers are made up of a ten group, and did a daisy shaped puzzle to practice and develop number sense for the numbers 11-20.

Dear HMB parents,
HMB is already excited for the 2026-2027 school year to begin. With that said, there will be a few changes in staffing to support student learning across grade levels. Mrs. Held will work in both business and special education. Ms. Christensen will transition to teaching fifth-grade along with sixth-grade Science, while Mrs. Schatz will take on sixth-grade and fifth-grade Science. Additionally, Mrs. Werlinger will lead a combination classroom, working with both second and third-grade students. Finally, we are in the process of hiring new music and math teachers. These adjustments are designed to best meet the needs of our students and staff. The HMB community would like to thank Mrs. Shea, Mrs. Lien, and Mrs. Saez for all the hard work and dedication they gave to our students and school. We will truly miss you!
