The HMB government class spent the day at the legislature. We attended committee hearings, toured the capital, met with the Attorney General and our District 8 representatives, and sat in on the House and Senate Sessions. Mrs. Larson and Mrs. Reich are proud of our sharp dressed and very well behaved group. We had a wonderful day! Thanks, Mr. Mallard for driving our bus. #HMB #togetherwegrow

🖤Classroom Spotlight💛
The Business Budget Challenge allows a student to make a budget for themselves and enter into real life situations to help them make wise choices in spending and saving. The Business class went to the mall to shop with their budget. The goal was to think about their needs verses wants and make wise purchases.
Every student kept their spending down and came home with money in their pocket. When I asked the students for their take away from the experience the most common response was, "It was nice to act like an adult and take the time to think before spending." I enjoyed seeing the choices the students made and was very proud of each one.
Lastly, we went to Panda Express for lunch and experienced a manager training a new employee while we were having lunch. The students were impressed with how the manager handled the employee making mistakes and how he corrected the situation. They agreed they would work for that manager.
Everyone had a great day and learned from the experience.
