In music this week students got to do their best to match silly stick figures, play Halloween Music Bingo, follow along with a monster mash rhythm play-along, and sort out their Halloween candy based on the rhythm it creates.
Last weekend High School Band students attended UND Band Day in Grand Forks.

The elementary has started a "Linked Together by Kindness" activity. In October the students earned 86 kindness links. Students earn these links by getting caught being kind. Out of those students, five were randomly chosen to have a special lunch with Mr. Larson and Mr. Barry. The lucky 5 students were: Kyle, Payton, Maddox, Braxton, and Layla. Great job students!

Red Ribbon Week Activities
Elementary students had an individual coloring contest, a classroom poster contest, and an obstacle course. The students also wore red one day.

The 7th and 8th graders have been learning all about the 16 Career Clusters in Mrs. Benz’s Exploring Career Decisions class. Here they are with their posters that were all about their favorite career cluster. They had to include some of the different careers and career pathways that make up the cluster; as well as some of the skills, interests, and abilities someone who works in this cluster should have. They did such a great job presenting them to their class!

Last weekend Teagen, Katelyn, Lucy, Jolean, Isabella, and Brynnlee attended the Surround the State in Music event in Bismarck.
Thank you to everyone who bought Butter Braids from the Elementary! We haven't made a dent in our earnings, but here are some of the fun things that have been purchased!
Volleyball nets, hula hoops, ankle jump ropes, basketballs, volleyballs, holiday lights for the hallway, snow blocks, velcro ball and catch game, books for the library, and chalk! There are ideas for more items to be purchased.
Also, thank you so much to those who donated used books to the Elementary Stu. Co. book drive! Here are some of the many good books for the students. The books will be given during book bingo events, coupons for students when they are caught being kind, and prizes during classroom parties! The teachers and librarians also got to take a peek at the books and choose some for their classroom.

Math - The 7th grade students play the games Equate and Tuf. Both need to formulate an equation involving two or more operations in the equation outcome. The TUF game is a timed game. Each player takes 3 blue number cubes, 3 green number cubes, 4 operator cubes, and 1 white equals cube. The longer the equation and the correct equation wins. In the Equate game, the players need to select 6 number chips and 3 operator chips. They have to place the equation on the game board horizontally or vertically. The score is based on the chips used or where the last chips of your equation fall. This activity develops accuracy, speed, and comprehension of equations.
