August 3 Update-

The HMB School Board approved the HMB Health & Safety Smart Restart Plan this morning with the plan to start school Face-to-Face on time according to our school calendar on Thursday, August 20th, unless directed otherwise by health officials.

The Board reviewed the feedback from the restart surveys. The feedback shows strong support to return to school Face-to-Face and with precautions in place. HMB Public School in conjunction with Emmons County Public Health has provided recommendations and precautions for students and staff throughout the school day. HMB will continue to work with Emmons County Public Health to determine appropriate protocols for our various situations.

The plan was approved as presented with the understanding that it is a fluid document and changes can be made with board approval. Please on the link below to view the plan.

July 24 Update-

The HMB Public School Fall 2020 Restart Committee has been formed and consists of parents, students, board members, administration, staff and county health. The committee met this morning and began the process of creating the HMB Health & Safety Plan as required by NDDPI and updating our Distance Learning Plan. The plan will follow the guidance of the ND K-12 Smart Restart Fall 2020 Guidelines. Surveys will be distributed to all parents and staff this week. Parents are asked to complete a survey for each child they have in school, and have the surveys completed by Monday morning, July 27th. Feedback from the surveys will be used to help complete the plans. The HMB School Board will then meet to approve the Health & Safety Plan and the updated Distance Learning Plan. The approved plans will then be shared with the community along with other information normally sent out prior to the school year.

At this time, HMB Public School plans to start the school year on time and on campus for Face-to-Face instruction, with the first day of school on August 20th. You will be able to share your intentions and provide comments for the school year in the Restart Survey.

July 14 Update-

Today, Governor Burgum announced the release of new guidelines for schools to start this fall. The guidelines were developed in conjunction with the ND Department of Public Instruction and ND Department of Health. Prior to the school year beginning, school districts must develop Health and Safety Plans and Distance Learning Plans that are approved by the local school board and posted on the school district website. HMB will continue to develop plans to begin the school year as we collect information from local stakeholders and according to restart guidelines. Please click below to access the guidelines.
